Thunderbird Twinspark:

Royal Enfield Motors has finally launched its most awaited cruiser bike, Thunderbird Twin-Spark 350cc motorcycle with Unit Construction engine (UCE) in the market today. The cruiser bike has been priced at more than 1 Lac Ex-Showroom and is claimed to give 45-50 kilometers per liter. The bike is a combination of cutting edge technology and high torque, comfort and style.

This model is the first one in the series of models that will be launched in the future, that will feature UCE.* Royal Enfield will introduce four new models by the end of 2010-2011 with two each catering to the Indian and the overseas market, including Europe, mentioned Siddharth Lal CEO and MD Eicher Motors and R L Ravichandran CEO of Royal Enfield motors. The international models will have a 500cc engine.

By 2010 the company will also launch the twin-spark models of the popular Electra, Machismo and the Bullet 350 said Mr Ravichandran.

?For international markets we are currently test marketing the Bullet Electra EFI and in November this year, the UCE* 500 EFI will be unveiled in auto shows at Cologne and Birmingham.? he added.

This new motorcycle has a 346cc, air-cooled, OHV, Unit Constructed Engine with a 5 speed gearbox which produces 19.8 bhp power at 5250rpm and 28 Nm torque at 4000rpm. The shiny spoke wheels, a silky muffler with heat shield silencer, gas filled rear shock absorber and electronic flasher gives this motorcycle a deadly look.

The 346cc power-plant of this bike produces the great acceleration which makes this bike able to touch the 60 Kmph speed in just 5 seconds. Its 19 x 3.25mm (front) and 19 x 3.5 mm (rear) wheels makes the handling capacity of this bike so qualitative. Its Telescopic Hydraulic front suspension and Swing Arm, Gas filled rear shock absorber reduces the jerks at the time of riding and improves the handling of this bike. The on road price of this grand bike, Thunderbird Twinspark is Rs. 1.03 - 1.06 Lacs.
